1981 represents the ground-breaking for CLAAS of America LLC. in Columbus, Indiana. As a subsidiary of CLAAS KGaA, it is responsible for sales and support of all CLAAS products sold in the U.S. and Canada. From 1981 - 1996, the company concentrated its business on hay & forage equipment as well as CLAAS combines in North-America. In 1996, CLAAS of America directed its attention towards two product ranges: Self-propelled forage harversters and combine harvesters as well as the respective parts supply. In 2004, CLAAS of America and CLAAS Omaha combined their offices in Omaha, NE, to establish the North-American headquarter for CLAAS. CLAAS' main parts facility in North-America remains in Columbus, IN, and houses parts for hay & forage equipment as well as LEXION combines. CLAAS of America LLC. has changed its legal representation to CLAAS of America Inc.
